Slowing down and immersing yourself in nature will allow you to get closer to the reserve’s big game – like Bontebok, Cape Mountain Zebra and Eland – but also see the smaller things for which De Hoop is world renowned – like the hundreds of species of endemic fynbos and birds on the De Hoop Vlei. There are guided mountain bike tours to suit every fitness level and skill; with catering by the superb De Hoop Collection to ensure you’re well-nourished and hydrated throughout the ride.

De Hoop Training Camps

Come train in the one of the most beautiful locations in the Western Cape, De Hoop Nature Reserve. Whether you are putting in base miles or sharpening your skills for a big event De Hoop’s plethora of tracks, trails and long district gravel roads feature everything you’ll need to take your mountain biking to the next level. Plus you’ll get to enjoy the fantastic hospitality of the De Hoop Collection while you’re not riding, ensuring you’re well rested and nourished to perform to your best during each training session. De Hoop MTB Training Camps will feature programmes designed using the latest sport science research principals.

The camps are structured to expose riders to back-to-back rides, teach stage race tactics and gain multi-day riding experience in a safe environment. By simulating a race environment, but with the safety net of a support vehicle, riders can experiment with equipment, nutrition and recovery techniques.
